Squid + mango stuffed dough fritters with mayo. I’m not sure if my description is entirely accurate, all I remember is that it was yummy!
Fried dough fritters
Their signature (I think!) BBQ fish… it’s salty in the right places
“Baby” kai lan stir-fried with garlic. We order this all the time whenever we eat at Chinese eateries.. it’s not a particularly sophisticated dish or anything, but it’s really amazing
White pepper crab — this is amazing, and SO MUCH BETTER than chilli crab or black pepper crab!
Another photo. It’s piping hot
There was more food, but the photos were too crappy.
Long Beach Seafood Restaurant, East Coast Parkway. They underwent renovation recently, so the restaurant’s a little less “beachy” now, and somewhat posher… prices have also gone up accordingly, methinks

Frankly, their food is just so-so. Especially the steaks. You get what you pay for, I guess. But we go there occasionally, anyway, because it’s just so near!
Complimentary garlic bread
Seafood in a basket
Filet mignon — the steak was pretty tasteless, unfortunately
Chicken cordon bleu
This was at the Century Square outlet (Tampines).

Minus the giant prawns, plus lots of fried lard!
The bigger bowl was my father’s, I think ![]()

Their fabulous roast duck! I have it with lots of plum sauce ![]()
At Tiong Bahru — they have a stand-alone coffeeshop outlet, and a stall at Tiong Bahru Food Centre too. The chef is from Hong Kong.

Swedish meatballs. You can buy their frozen meatballs and sauce to make the dish at home, but somehow it doesn’t quite taste the same…
Salmon with veggies & potatoes. Not the best shot, obviously!
Daim cake!!! It’s as good as the candy, if not better ![]()
dim sum

Char siew puff pastry (char siew sou) — super melt-in-your-mouth!
Scallop thingers
Fried prawn dumplings (meng har gok). This, however, is not their best dim sum dish
Steamed radish cake. They also have a fried version, which is pretty good, too
Braised fish head in black bean sauce… my parents love this
Wrapped dough fritters. You can’t eat it like that, though — it HAS to go with sauce! (not shown in picture)
Peking duck!
Yummy!
Asia Grand Restaurant, at Odeon Towers. We love the dim sum here, and the service is always excellent
a boring lunch

Fried soft shell baby crabs

Warren Golf & Country Club. Definitely edible…and the prices are always very affordable!
